We have carefully curated this fantastic, super-premium experience with an “insiders’ itinerary” that you can add to the beginning or end of your stay in Athens. This is a tour that we are very proud of, and we promise that you will have a memorable experience. You will savor 6 varieties of indigenous wines, discover some of the city’s hidden gems, relish in its delightful culinary traditions, and get a taste of the elegant lifestyle “lived by locals” in our beloved city.

Discover the local grape varieties and techniques that make each wine distinct, exploring wine tasting methods with tips from an expert. Taste a series of six wines, each paired with food that reflects the world of Greek gastronomy. To start, you will be mesmerized by a mouthwatering cheese and meats board; at our next stop you will fall in love with amazing modern Greek cuisine, and of course you will be hooked by the delectable desserts at our last stop. Whether a complete novice or a connoisseur when it comes to Greek wine, you are welcome, as everyone will learn more and enjoy the experience. Come with a healthy appetite, as this 3.5h tour will replace dinner. Following the goodbyes, you can continue the night if you wish in the heart of central Athens, a mecca of trendy bars and a vibrant nightlife.

Highlights

An exclusive gastronomic tour focusing equally on both food & wine; or let’s admit… a little bit more on wine. Greek wine is produced mainly from indigenous grape varieties, while the country’s varied terroirs are considered among the finest in the world.
We will visit few of the best wine bar/ restaurants in downtown Athens, the true hangouts of local people to discover the diversity of Greek wine. With spectacular wine lists and guidance from a sommelier, you will enjoy six different wines, including Malagouzia, Assyrtiko (from Santorini), Xinomavro, Agiorgitiko, and Visanto while you learn about how to taste wines like the pros.
Enjoy wines of all varietals, including White, Rosé, Red, Digestif, and Sparkling!
Knowledge will be shared about food & wine, but the ultimate goal of this tour is to explore Athens, enjoy the local flavors in a relaxed atmosphere and create special memories to take home with you.

At the conclusion of the experience, you’ll leave with a list of all the wines you sampled, as well as greater confidence for the next time you’re handed a wine list! You will also receive plenty of restaurant/bar tips from our local sommelier/guide.
As you may know, wine and cheese are made for each other. Thus, in our first stop, you will savor exceptional cheeses and cured meats as you sip regional Greek wines.
The next stop will delight you with a small plate sharing menu, featuring fresh and seasonal Greek & Mediterranean cuisine, which you will enjoy with another selection of Greek wine!!
A true gastronomic experience would be incomplete without a delicious sweet dessert and yes… wine again!
This experience is mostly savory, with a sweet dessert at the end.
This tour can be curated in most venues for vegetarians or pescatarians, but unfortunately is not for vegans or those who follow a gluten-free diet.

We had an excellent food and wine tour in the city center of Athens. All 3 stops were AMAZING! First, we had wine tasting with charcuterie board with Greek products (loved all varieties esp. the smoked cheese), second was a beautiful restaurant with delicious Greek food (fava, dolma, zucchini balls and more) and more wine and finally dessert stop with dessert wine. It was the best meal I had in my 2 weeks in Greece. Thank you Valentini for making this experience so memorable. This is tour is 10/10!
